What a picture this traditional Japanese kyusu pottery set is!

A kyusu is a traditional Japanese teapot mainly used for brewing green tea.

This kyusu and the tiny matching bowls are finished in a beautiful blue variegated high-gloss glaze and the kyusu has a wooden side handle.

The tea set can be put in the dishwasher although we do not recommend that because ofthe wooden handle of the teapot.

The tea set is packed in a luxury storage box.

Please note: the blue tray shown in the photos is not part of the tea set. This is part of a private collection.

A gaiwan is particularly good to use for tea with a delicate taste and aroma such as green and white tea.

The gaiwan is also suitable for Oolong teas, as you can easily serve it several times.

The use with other black teas is not recommended as the tea cools down too quickly due to the wide lid, which is detrimental to the taste of black tea.
