Ingredients: Rooibos, ginger sticks, cardamom, orange peel, natural flavor
Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) is a plant in the legume family (Leguminosae). The plant occurs naturally in the vicinity of the Cederberg (South Africa).
When the plant is 1.5 years old, it can be harvested for the first time and after 10 years the bush is at its end and dies. The leaves of the plant are picked, mashed and placed in the sun for oxidation. In the last phase, the rooibos acquires its reddish brown color.
Rooibos contains no caffeine and little taninne and is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, calcium and iron.
This version of Rooibos contains delicious Chai spices. Chai, also called Masala Chai, has its origins in India. Originally, strong black tea was used, combined with herbs and sweeteners.
There is no set recipe for Chai, but ginger, cardamom and cinnamon are generally one of the main ingredients.
