Also known as Red Tea, this tea has been produced in the Chinese province of Yunnan for 1700 years. Fermentation gives this tea its dark red color and earthy taste. Pu-Erh tea will become tastier with age.

Due to the longer ripening proces, Pu-erh is more expensive than other teas. Pu-erh tastes great with dishes with mushrooms, truffle or smoked fish.

You can make Pu-Erh tea several times from the same tea leaves.

Pu-erh is consumed by many people due to a number of health aspects. In some cases, Pu-Erh can help relieve the symptoms of the metabolic syndrome. Pu-Erh can also lower blood sugar level, reduce obesity and boost immunity. In addition, Pu-Erh helps to lower cholesterol levels.
