Autumn in Amsterdam. The wind is blowing over the quays. The rain makes the canals swirl. The sun breaks through and sets the city in a golden glow. Time for a walk and tea. Green tea with apple and cinnamon. Perfect for this time of year.
We have selected a warm and spicy green tea blend especially for the turbulent autumn season. The sweet fragrance and flavour of apple is perfectly complemented by the spicy cinnamon and almond.
This beautiful tea is packaged in a luxurious tea tin with a double lid. This keeps the tea fresh longer and you can continue to enjoy it for a long time.
Ingredients: green tea, apple, almond, cinnamon, bitter almond oil
The taste of autumn must be the combination of apple and cinnamon. If not in the form of an apple pie, then in the form of tea. Both provide a warm and comfortable feeling.
It is always difficult to explain through our website how our tea smells and tastes. It is best to visit our specialty store in loose leaf tea in the Oude Hoogstraat to feel, taste and smell this tea yourself. No time to come by? No worries! We have developed the flavour chart for this:
Autumn in Amsterdam is a refined blend based on green tea. The tea is spicy, fresh sweet and full of flavour, with a long almond/apple/cinnamon aftertaste. When brewed correctly, the tea does not become bitter and you do not suffer from astringency.
For 1 cup you need about 2 level teaspoons of Amsterdam Autumn Tea. Autumn tea is based on green tea. Green tea does not tolerate boiling water well. Green tea contains tannins. This substance ensures, among other things, that the tea becomes bitter. Tannin is released in large quantities above 85ºC. So let the tea steep for about 2 minutes at 85°C. Then take out your tea filter or tea infuser.
Tip! If you don't have a kettle where you can set the temperature or a thermometer, you can also use the following trick; After bringing the water to a boil, let it cool in the kettle for another 3-4 minutes. The water has then reached the desired temperature of 85ºC.
Our Autumn Tea can be brewed 2-3 times without any problems.
You can keep this tea at room temperature. The tea stays good for at least 2 years in the supplied tea can. The double lid ensures that absolutely no air can get to the tea and the taste is guaranteed.

Did you know that tea can also be wonderfully combined with savory foods?
I put it to the test with a delicious piece of old Cantal cheese, brought from the beautiful Auvergne in France. Cantal cheese has a strong taste. Spicy, slightly salty and with full tones in which a creamy, almost vanilla-like hint can be detected. Curious how it tastes in combination with an Oolong from Tanzania?
I know, the real wine purists will find what I'm about to describe a sacrilege... Chardonnay with a purple hue.
A nice summer twist on this white wine. All you need is a few blue ice cubes and Chardonnay. Your friends will be impressed. Curious how to make Chardonnay Violet? Then read on..
Currently one of my favorite tea drinks this summer... Chilled Matcha Latte! Matcha helps to boost your energy and concentration, while also giving you a sense of calm and clarity.

Do you want to prepare loose leaf tea at home?
That's very simple! To make loose leaf tea you only need a few basic elements. Tea leaves, hot water and something to put your tea in.
However, there are a few things that need some extra attention, such as the temperature of the water and the brewing time of the tea. We've listed it all here for you!
Last week one of our nicest customers, Chloe, came by for a pleasant conversation at our tea table.
Chloe started a podcast last year where she interviews people who play a role in her life. Today it was my turn and I was allowed to elaborate for more than half an hour about one of my great passions ... tea. Follow our conversation on Spotify!
I think every parent encounters this at some point. Isn't there a better alternative to lemonade or fruit juice for your kids? Even the healthy drinks are often still full of sugars and artificial additives. Tasty, but not really healthy. Offering only water is not always an option either. As a mother of two young daughters, I was always faced with this dilemma. Fortunately, as the owner of a tea shop, the solution was close at hand!
