This Matcha, specially selected by Het Kleinste Huis, comes from Kagoshima, South Japan, and is of ceremonial quality. This means that the best leaves of the tea plant have been used for this Matcha.
The cultivar used is the Okumidori, which translates into less astringency, more umami and an intense green color reminiscent of the color jade.
The matcha by Het Kleinste Huis has a delicate and refined taste, with a sweet, nutty touch and a fine umami balance.

Matcha, the finest form of Japanese green tea, is a valuable product that has been used in Japanese tea ceremonies for centuries. At Het Kleinste Huis you can choose from the best quality ceremonial matcha, which is produced according to the most traditional methods and with the greatest care for quality and taste.
Our ceremonial matcha is organic and free of pesticides and chemicals. It has been carefully picked and processed to the highest standards, making it a fine, pure powder with an intense green color and a unique taste. Our matcha is not only perfect for traditional tea ceremonies, but also ideal for use in culinary applications.
The production of matcha is a time-consuming and labour-intensive process. It starts with selecting the right leaves from the tea bush, which are specially protected from direct sunlight to preserve their color and flavour.
With care and attention, the tea leaves for this matcha are harvested manually and processed into a fine powder, which optimally expresses the unique taste and benefits of matcha.
The result is a pure, green powder with a rich taste and a range of healthy substances, including antioxidants and caffeine. Matcha is a unique product that not only tastes great, but also offers a number of health benefits.
Unlike regular green tea, where only the water from the tea leaves is drunk, with matcha the entire tea leaf is ground into a fine powder. As a result, matcha contains a much higher concentration of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, making it a healthier alternative to other forms of tea or coffee.
Ceremonial matcha, also known as "usucha", is specially designed for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies and is regarded as the highest quality matcha. It is finer ground than other types of matcha and has a subtle, delicate flavor that perfectly complements the elegance and rituals of the Japanese tea ceremony. Whether you are looking for a refreshing and healthy drink for every day, or you want to experience the traditional Japanese tea ceremony in your own home, Het Kleinste Huis always has the perfect ceremonial matcha for the right price.
Matcha, the finest form of Japanese green tea, is a true delicacy for tea lovers. The Smallest House offers an excellent ceremonial Matcha known for its intense flavor and rich color. To get the most out of this tea, it is important to follow the preparation method. In this article we discuss the correct way to prepare ceremonial Matcha from The Smallest House.
The first step in preparing Matcha is determining the right amount. The Smallest House recommends using about 1-2 teaspoons of Matcha for every 200 ml of water. This depends on the desired intensity of the taste.
You can also use a Matcha whisk to measure the right amount. It is important to measure accurately, as too much Matcha will lead to a bitter result.
The right temperature is very important for preparing Matcha. Water that is too hot can ruin the taste and aroma of the tea, while water that is too cold will not get the most out of the Matcha. The Smallest House recommends using water with a temperature between 70°C and 80°C. This can be easily measured with a tea thermometer.
Once you have determined the correct amount of Matcha, water and temperature, it is time to begin the preparation process. Add the Matcha to a tea ball or cup and pour the warm water over it. Use a matcha whisk to thoroughly mix the tea until an even and frothy texture is created.
Now you can enjoy your perfect Matcha from Het Kleinste Huis. Taste the intense taste and rich aroma and let yourself be transported to Japan.

Did you know that tea can also be wonderfully combined with savory foods?
I put it to the test with a delicious piece of old Cantal cheese, brought from the beautiful Auvergne in France. Cantal cheese has a strong taste. Spicy, slightly salty and with full tones in which a creamy, almost vanilla-like hint can be detected. Curious how it tastes in combination with an Oolong from Tanzania?
I know, the real wine purists will find what I'm about to describe a sacrilege... Chardonnay with a purple hue.
