Japanese Matcha Hana - Organic
This traditional green Matcha tea is grown in the fields of Uji, near Tokyo. Four weeks before harvest, the tea plants are covered by mats and blankets in the sun. This increases the production of leaf green in the plant, which enhances the taste of the tea.
The best leaves are then picked, refreshed and then steamed. As a final step, the leaves are powdered with a mortar. Matcha is used in the official Japanese tea ceremony. The powder is whipped into a foamy mass with water, which lies between 70 ºC and 85 ºC.
Matcha has become very popular in the kitchen in recent years. From ice cream to muesli, from chocolate to muffins. Everything is possible with this tea.
