Our organic Tamaryokucha is a refined, delicate green loose leaf tea from Japan.
This tea has a tangy flavor, with a long almond-like finish and a deep aroma with notes of citrus, grass and berries. The citrus notes and berrylike flavor are unique to Tamaryokucha.
Although it is often compared to Sencha tea, Tamaryokucha is milder. A widely appreciated tea.
Tamaryokucha is Japanese green tea that is also called guricha which means curly tea. This is a reference to the comma-shaped, rolled-up leaves.
Tamaryokucha is native to the Kyushu area of Japan. In general, the tea leaves are steamed, all though they are fried in China. It is believed that by steaming the vitamins and antioxidants are better preserved. The flavour differs between steamed and fried Tamaryokucho. The baked version is somewhat reminiscent of the scent of cooked vegetables.
The tea itself is golden yellow in color. Let the tea steep for 2 minutes at 70 ° C or about 1 minute at 80 ° C.
