Genmaicha, or 'brown rice tea', is a very old Japanese specialty. Formerly popular among the poor Japanese, it is now especially loved for the grassy taste of green tea and the aroma of roasted rice.
Ingredients: Green tea, roasted rice
Genmaicha is Bancha mixed with husked rice which is partially roasted. Although Genmaicha contains green tea, the preparation differs differently. It is best to steep this tea with 80°C-90°C for 30 seconds.
