Tea Tasting in the Smallest house

At the Smallest House, you will not only find our amazing tea shop with our wide range of fresh teas, but also our tasting rooms. Tea tasting rooms! Whether you want to catch up with friends, have something to celebrate, or, for example, have a meeting at a special location, come and taste tea at The Smallest House!

On the upper floor of our shop are two cosy, attractively decorated (tiny!) tasting rooms. These are probably the smallest tea rooms in the Netherlands. And actually, you may also call them 'Private Tea Rooms' because because space in the rooms is so limited, we can accommodate a maximum of 4-6 people per room. So a stay in the tea rooms quickly becomes a private affair! In our tasting rooms, we offer various tasting sessions, which focus on getting to know tea, the tea tradition and the history of the house. And of course, you will taste different teas while enjoying our home-baked apple cake (which has become a celebrity in its own right).

take in the atmosphere of our tea rooms

The tea tastings take place above the store in our two tastefully decorated tasting rooms. With a maximum of 4-6 people because the rooms are small, just like the house.

The main thing is that you can get acquainted at this special location and enjoy our teas and homemade apple pie. In the meantime, you will also learn something about the many facets of tea and tea culture. What is the best way to make (a pot of) tea? And what is the difference between white, black and green tea? Is Rooibos tea really tea?

We will also tell you more about the history of the Smallest House in Amsterdam. Depending on the duration of the tasting, we will go into this more or less. Of course there is also enough time for yourself, to talk, meet or just enjoy.

"We couldn't recommend a better place for a great experience!"

3 friends and I had the best time here! The owners are extremely nice and talked to us for over an hour about the house, the city and their lives! We couldn't recommend a better place for a great experience!

Do you have a question about our tea tasting courses or masterclasses?

Our tea rooms are open from Monday to Saturday from 11am to 6pm.

We are also open on some Sundays. Please see current opening hours.

That is definitely recommended! Our space and facilities are very limited. As a result, we are fully booked almost every day. So book in advance and avoid disappointment.

Unfortunately, we can only accommodate a very limited number of people at a time in our house. Weekends and Tuesdays are always the most popular with us. Do you want to be sure of a spot? Book well in advance.

This will differ per person. To reach the tea rooms on the first floor, you must first climb a steep spiral staircase. This will certainly be quite a task for people who have difficulty walking.

Do you want more explanation? Then call us on +31 20 752 75 85. We are happy to assist you.

Due to the limited space, we can receive a maximum of 4 people at the same time.

Unfortunately not, if you want to use the tea rooms, tea and consumption is mandatory.

Yes, of course! Although our specialty is tea, we also cater to the inveterate coffee drinker in our tea rooms.

No, in the tea rooms we only serve our teas in combination with a tea tasting course or masterclass.
