Assam TGFOP1 Koilamari - Organic
This organic black tea comes from the oldest and largest Indian tea region Assam. This tea is grown on a plantation on the north bank of the Brahmaputra. A large number of golden tips and a light honey character are trademarks of this tea.
The Assam province is located in northeastern India and has a tropical monsoon-like climate. This climate contributes to the characteristic malt-like taste of Assam. Annually around 507 million kilos of tea are produced in this region.
This Assam is organically grown and has been awarded the TGFOP1 rating, which is an abbreviation of 'Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe - grade # 1'. This means that the highest quality tea leaves have been used for this tea.
The worldwide tea industry uses its own system to determine the quality of tea. In general, the younger and smaller the tea leaves, the better the quality.
