Herbal tea, misnomer?

In the Netherlands, we call herbal infusions, herbal tea (kruidenthee). But officially it is not a tea. You can only speak of tea when the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis are processed in it.

Many people switch from green and black tea to herbal infusion because the latter does not contain caffeine. In addition, the flavors are often pronounced and surprising than the usual regular teas.

Brewing Tips for Herbal infusions.

Unlike white and green tea, a herbal infusion can tolerate hot water.

The average brewing time for an herbal infusion is between 3 and 8 minutes.

On the information sheet of our herbal infusion is indicated what the desired water temperature and brewing time is.
